$3,000 Pay Day Awaits June 28th Tour Modified Feature Winner
Evergreen Raceway, the 1/3-mile asphalt oval in St. Johns, is ready to welcome back the Tour Type Modifieds on Sunday, June 28th with a 75-lap/$3000-to-win feature race.
“This would not be possible with out some help with a great group of sponsors who are doing this anonymously just to support the speedway,” said track promoter Jason Makarewicz.
“I am amazed with the amount of support I have received over the last few weeks regarding both our June 21st and 28th events.”
The track’s first official race will take place on Sunday afternoon, June 21 headlined by round one of the Plum Air Late Model Series. Also in action that day will be Street Stocks, Factory Stocks, 4-Cylinder Stocks, Legends and Bandalero’s. Adult grandstand admission is $12.
Then it’s on to the following Sunday for the Tour Type Modifieds and drivers can expect some more money towards the back of the field which will now be $300 to take the green instead of the normal $250 for this event.
There is plenty of buzz surrounding this event as expected entrants include Jimmy Blewett, Ron Silk, Chuck Hossfeld, Matt Hirschman, Blake Barney, Austin Beers, Dave Brigati, Dom Fattaruso and Ricky Collins who have all expressed interest.
Track regulars such as Brian DeFebo, Bobby Jones, Roger Coss Jonathan Mandato along with many others are scheduled to be in attendance. The normal Evergreen Raceway 4 tire rule will be in effect.
Many drivers have also expressed interest in running the second modified division that will run on the 28th, Evergreen Modifieds or Sport Mods, which run on the 10 inch Hoosier tire.
Practice the day of the event will begin at 12:30, with racing getting underway at 2 P.M.
